Getting to camp
Please note nuts are not allowed on camp.
We would also ask you to not allow any young person to bring their phone to camp. Should there be an emergency, you can contact their section leader or the camp team directly (camp emergency number will be released closer to the camp)
Yes, leaders should attend from every section attending. We operate a 1 leader : 6 young people ratio as a minimum to facilitate the event runs safely and smoothly.
Each section should ensure their payment is transferred to the district account by the date on the invoice.
Each Scout should pay their individual section accordingly as per their OSM event.
An electronic permission form is not required by the event team.
Please ensure any allergies/ dietary requirements are updated appropriately on the OSM event you have been invited to.
Scouts within Pentland District are able to attend.
You should be invited to an OSM event, please ensure you sign up before the camp closes.
If a Scout is unable to attend the event for any reason, we will endeavour to reimburse any monies paid, minus unavoidable costs. There will be no refunds after 31st August 2024.

Yes there will be parking available for volunteers helping at the event. More details on where to park with be in the camp information pack.
You should arrive and check in at Barrwood Campsite between 19:00 & 19:30.
The camp will close at 3pm and pick up is the same location as drop-off.

The theme for this camp will be Back to Basics and will include: EARTH, FIRE, WATER activities.
Scouts and Leaders should arrive and leave camp in their Scout shirt and group neckie.
Yes. We have a Media Team who will be taking photos and recording elements of the event.
Photography/filming/audio will be taken at the camp, this will be used in print and digital media formats including publications and social media. These images will be retained by Pentland Scouts to be used for promotional purposes and to archive the event.
Please note this is a large-scale event where the volume of attendees is high, and the event is spread over a large area. There will be video, photography & audio being recorded in all areas during the event.
Please make sure your leader is aware of your preferences.
Any lost property will be handed to the planning team during the camp. Scouts should have their name on all of their belonging prior to attending camp and we would encourage Scouts is careful of possessions and property.
We will keep lost property for 1 month after the camp before donating it to Charity.
No not at all. As long as transport is arranged to and from site they can join in when they arrive or finish an activity early. Please ensure you let us know so we can ensure the scout is allocated to an onsite activity.
Scouts should NOT bring a mobile phone to the camp. If there is any situation where you or your child need to speak with one another, you will be able to do so through the section leader or through the emergency camp contact number [this will be available during the event]
The UK weather is very unpredictable. Please ensure that you have suitable protection for both hot and inclement weather. Some activities may not run if it is deemed unsafe.
You are not required to being a Pocket-Knife. Please leave them at home, if seen on camp they will be confiscated.
Scouts may be asked to assist with catering, however this will be centrally managed and overseen by leaders on the camp.
